Bruce Lee’s Son Taught Us An Invaluable Lesson
Do you know that Brandon Lee, the son of legendary actor and martial artist Bruce Lee, died young just like his father?
Yes, he was only 28 years old when he lost his life during an accident on a movie set.
This was quite similar to Bruce Lee, who himself died when he was only 32 years of age.
Such tragic events make us wonder how fragile our lives are. It makes us question, what’s the point of it all?
Why do we blindly chase money and status when all of it could be gone in a flash?
That’s what Brandon Lee taught us. He taught us an invaluable lesson about the transience of life.
His tombstone has the following words inscribed on it –
“Because we don’t know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. And yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, an afternoon that is so deeply a part of your being that you can’t even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four, or five times more? Perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless…”
These words were taken from an interview that Brandon gave prior to his death.
Well, this makes you think. Doesn’t it?
We have limited time here. Let’s use it well.
Let of the grudges. Spend more time with your family. Catch up with your friends. Try to comfort someone. Be more compassionate.
Your life is a gift. Treat it like one.
