The key to having a peaceful mind is to associate your life with a purpose. If you are focused on something, you won’t be as bothered by the little things as you are right now.

Think of it like this; if you are focused on getting better, you won’t have time to worry about what people are saying about you. On the other hand, if you have nothing to put your focus on, you’ll constantly be bothered by people’s opinions of you.

As Mark Manson puts it, think of what you give a f*ck about.
