Don’t state the obvious

Don’t state the obvious
Don’t tell a fat girl that she’s fat
Don’t tell an already nervous guy that he’s too shy
Don’t point out someone’s complexion
Don’t you dare bash someone

That skinny looking kid already knows his frailty
That girl you just teased could already be suffering from anxiety
Your words will be just words for you
But for them, they will land as wounds taking forever to heal

So, use your words if you must
But to uplift someone, to encourage someone
Be kind, be gentle
And for what it’s worth
Don’t state the obvious
