Chasing Money

Right now, it might seem like money is the only answer to all your woes. But once you have this money, you’ll soon reach emotional contentment.

There’s only so much stuff that you can buy. Once you have food on your plate, a comfortable place to live, and some other basic needs fulfilled, you’ll run out of things to do with this money.

Your happiness, though rising briefly, will come down pretty soon. You’ll soon realize that your life isn’t any happier than it was before and that keeping money as your only goal wasn’t the right thing to do.

Don’t get me wrong. Money is important. I only want to make a point that money shouldn’t be your sole focus.

If you chase a worthy goal like becoming better, learning more, helping someone, or building something, you’ll find yourself much happier in the long run.

Here’s an example. If you are starting a business only for the sake of money, then you’ll soon end up getting miserable. But if you are starting a business because you are passionate about creating a product, you’ll see your happiness increase over time. Money then will come as a byproduct of your efforts.
