We humans have cognitive bias. This cognitive bias helps our brain simplify a large chunk of information. But it also causes us to perceive the world in a way that might not reflect reality.
For example, our brains see the value of things relatively. We consider a commodity cheap or expensive by comparing its value with other commodities.
So no wonder we are unhappy in our lives. We are constantly hooked on social media, looking at the lives of people who are crazy rich or successful.
This reduces the perceived value of our own lives.
“That guy is the same age as mine and he has already started his own company. And look at me, doing this boring job. I’m such a loser.”
Such negative self talk is usually the consequence of our cognitive bias.
